Lydium-KLP™; 5 mg

Lydium-KLP™ 5 mg

The lysozyme dimer is built of two identical molecules of natural hen egg white lysozyme (discovered in 1922 by Alexander Fleming), one of the basic elements of the innate immune system. The system constitutes the first defence line in the immune system of every living organism after the pathogens invade its physical, chemical and biological barriers. This process is an instant immunological response against all microbes. The research on the functioning of the innate immune system was awarded Nobel prize in medicine and physiology in 2011.

Qualitative and quantitative composition of the active substance:
1 ml of the preparation contains 0.5 mg lysozyme dimer.

Indications:
Horses: The medication enhances the treatment of bacterial and viral diseases, particularly inflammations of the digestive and respiratory systems, mucous membrane of the uterus, skin and inner ear.
Cattle: The medication enhances the treatment of bacterial and viral diseases, particularly inflammations of the digestive and respiratory systems, milk glands, mucous membrane of the uterus, skin and inner ear.
Pigs: The medication enhances the treatment of bacterial and viral diseases, particularly inflammations of the digestive and respiratory systems, mucous membrane of the uterus, skin, inner ear and Metritis Mastitis Agalactia Syndrom (MMA).

Administration and dosage:

Horses: 0.02 mg of lysozyme dimer /kg of body weight (1 ml of preparation/25 kg body weight) in a single intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous injection. In the treatment combined with antibiotic preparations, 0.01 mg of lysozyme dimer/kg of body weight (1 ml of preparation/50 kg of body weight) in a single intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous injection. In mares with inflammation of mucous membrane of the uterus , 2.0 mg of lysozyme dimer (4 ml of the preparation) in 50 ml of physiological solution of NaCl or 5% glucose solution as an intrauterine infusion.
Cattle: 0.02 mg of lysozyme dimer /kg of body weight (1 ml of preparation/25 kg body weight) in a single intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous injection. In the treatment combined with antibiotic preparations, 0.01 mg of lysozyme dimer/kg of body weight (1ml of preparation/50 kg of body weight) in a single intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous injection. In cows with the 1 or 2 degree inflammation of mucous membrane of the uterus , 2.0 mg of lysozyme dimer (4 ml of preparation) in 50 ml of physiological solution of NaCl or 5% glucose solution as an intrauterine infusion.
Pigs: 0.02 mg of lysozyme dimer /kg of body weight (1 ml of preparation/25 kg body weight) in a single intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous injection. In the treatment combined with antibiotic preparations, 0.01 mg of lysozyme dimer/kg of body weight (1 ml of preparation/50 kg of body weight) in a single intramuscular ,subcutaneous or intravenous injection.
If necessary, the dose can be repeated after 24-72 hours.

Contraindications:
None.

Interactions:
Multielectrolyte fluids administered intravenously along with lysozyme dimer may decrease its efficacy. Glucocorticoids may interact with lysozyme dimer. Thus a 3 hour interval is suggested between the injection of Lydium-KLP and the administration of multielectrolite fluids or glucocorticoids.
